Miss Coulthurst first started teaching
with adult education in Bedfordshire and developed a real joy for teaching.
After working as an assistant at a large Ballet School, she went on to open her own
Dancing School over 25 years ago.
She
has always been passionate about dancing, and the main ethos at the ajs Dance
Academy is to foster the love of dance as an art form.
We are a dancing school with a focus on "technique", and strive to help each pupil to
work towards goals and to achieve their own personal best.
We teach with an individual approach to each pupil, within a structured
environment with a strong emphasis on developing a child's technical ability.
Our approach to teaching is to foster a good working relationship between
the teacher, pupil and parent, and we firmly believe that the self discipline and
the lessons learned within our working environment will be a life long skill. Our classes are full of fun and are hard work and every child
is encouraged to find confidence and to express themselves within the genre of
dance. Past pupils have gone on to
be dancers, teachers or to study dance at university and it is now a testimony that so
many past pupils are returning with their children to have the sort of
experience that they did whilst dancing at ajs Dance Academy....
