About Miss Mandy ...
I started dancing with my
first lesson aged 3 years old and trained at a Stage School in London, covering
all the major disciplines. I
trained and took my Examinations in Ballet, Tap and Modern, and was a medal
winner in these disciplines, and also Song and Dance, many times over in the London Dance Festivals, including the prestigious
All England Dance Competition. I
only ever wanted to be a dancer, but following a serious injury turned my
desires to teaching. I continued my
training with Yvonne Gout, Fellow and Examiner with the IDTA where I
took my teachers qualifications and I was also privileged to be trained
by Miss Tina Pilgrim of King Slocombe School of Dance in Cambridge where I
took my RAD Teaching Certificate.
I have continued dancing and studying and taking courses to further my knowledge and my ambition is to take my Fellowship and a BA in Dance at some time in the future.
In addition to running the Dance Academy, I am a freelance choreographer for Shows, including Pantomime, and now have a vast working knowledge of the theatre and dance as a principal choreographer and Artistic Director.
I am also a busy mum of three, with three dogs and a keen interest in flower arranging, gardening and I also have a allotment! Would love to keep chickens!
Miss Allie ...
I first started dancing by
taking ballet lessons when I was 3 years old. I then went on to join the ajs dance academy as
an aspiring young dancer in 1983 , and the academy has
remained very dear to my heart since I progressed to student teaching for Miss
Mandy in 1988.
Miss Kelly ...
I have passed my IDTA Teaching qualification (part 1) at ajs Dance Academy,
and am continuing my studies.
Like many dancers, I attended my first ballet class when I was 3 years old,
and have continued to explore many different dance styles through the years, including
tap, modern, contemporary and street dance. Once I had finished my A levels in
Performing Arts, English and Media studies, I moved down to the West Country
and became a Head Dancer and Lead Singer for Weststar Holidays. In
addition to teaching for ajs Dance Academy, I am also one of the
choreographers for Spotlight Productions, a local youth theatre company based in
Huntingdon. I also own Kelly Marie’s Dancewear in St
Neots.
Miss Phoebe ...

I have been a member of ajs dance academy since the age of 3. I have studied Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Street, Tap and freestyle. I am also working towards my Grade 7 RAD Ballet and my Intermediate modern Jazz. I enjoy taking part in the many ajs Dance shows and have also done pantomime and many amateur dramatic shows for Vamps. My favourite was Hello Dolly. I love my dancing and also being an assistant with the classes at the School. I am also studying A levels in Human Biology, Chemistry, psychology and Health and Social Care. After A levels I hope to go into nursing.
Miss Emily...

I have been dancing since I was 3 and have been a member of the ajs Dance Academy since the age of 11. I really enjoy my ballet lessons and am currently working towards my Grade 7 RAD Ballet and very excited about being on pointe. I love helping with the little children especially doing the little ballet character mimes. I am currently taking A levels in music, drama, English and maths. I am passionate about my music and singing and have been involved the ajs Dance shows which are great fun. I have also written several songs and I take an active role in all my School productions.
Miss Rachel ...
Miss Rachel has now left us and is studying law at Leeds Met after successfully
passing 3 A levels and attaining Intermediate Professional Examinations in both
Ballet and Tap. She hopes to continue with her Teacher training in Dance
whilst working towards her degree law and we shall welcome her back to classes
when she is able to attend.
